Comparison between the Maverick and Wrangler Frame Styles

We have two main building styles. The Maverick and the Wrangler. Below is a brief description noting the difference between the frame styles. Our staff will be sure to guide you to the best choice for you. As you look through the photographs and illustrations, they will be marked to tell which style you are looking at.

The Maverick

The WranglerNo matter which frame you choose, it is a simple method of bolting lumber to the pre-welded, pre-drilled tabs, then screwing your siding to them. All building frames are assembled using our patented channel iron connection for quick, easy assembly and extreme strength.

Allied “Gatorshield” steel is as good as it
gets. All of our main frame steel is 2 1/2” OD with 10 ga. wall thickness (.134) that weighs 3.4 pounds per foot. Mix that with the strength of Allied steel and you have one tough product.

What’s the difference between these two building frames?
Well, some things are not different at all. The steel used to manufacture the frames is the same for both. Both use 2.5” x 10 gauge galvanized steel and go together quickly. Both have runners, both can be moved and neither require a foundation. They both have about the same wind load and snow load capacities. So what is the difference? The more obvious difference is the fact that the Maverick frame has more steel in the frame while the Wrangler frame has more lumber bracing. Simply put, the extra steel in the Maverick is to withstand the stress of the earthquake type movements a building encounters while the building is being dragged across the field.

While the Wrangler is one of the most portable building frames on the market today and can be
pulled any time to relocate it to various places, it is not suggested to drag it for a long distances or over rough terrain.

The Maverick frame however is in a class of its own and much more portable. It can be pulled from
pasture to pasture without worry. I like to use the analogy of a two wheel drive vs. a four wheel drive
truck. They are both meant to go places but the four wheel drive can take a different path to get
there.

How are the buildings priced?
In the past, we sold some of our items as frame only and some with the finish material. In general all of the Wrangler buildings are priced as a complete kit. The prices we quote include all the required lumber, roofing, siding, trim and hardware to finish your building. The Maverick buildings are priced as Frame Only, just as they have been since 1949. Please contact us for price quotes.
