Model # VL-2875G This feeder has rapidly become our most popular feeder in the past two years. It is extremely heavily built with the main frame consisting of all 2 1/2" OD steel tubing and the hay basket and stanchions made from 1 3/8" OD and all # 1 treated lumber. The basket keeps the hay funneling toward the center so the cattle must continuously reach for it, resulting in a reported 25% hay savings. The space in the center allows the hay to fall - this eliminates the "toad stool" effect as the cattle eat towards the center of the bale. Feeds 1,500 pound bales, square bales, silage or feed.
